Giuseppe Ielasi is among the most widely known Italian artists in the world in the field of electronic and experimental composition. Born in 1974 and resident in Milan since the 90s, he began playing the guitar in the improv scene from 1988. He collaborates with Renato Rinaldi, Alessandro Bosetti, Michel Doneda, Ingar Zach, Dean Roberts. He also played with Taku Sugimoto, Jerome Noetinger, Mark Wastell, Martin Siewert, Nmperign, Brandon Labelle, Nikos Veliotis, Oren Ambarchi and many others. In the last years he has been interested in site-specific projects and only performances in which the guitar is used as original source of sound, integrated with the use of microphones and multi-channel diffusion in relation to space, creating complex sound environments. He permanently collaborates with Teatro Aperto, and since 1998 he follows the label Fringes recordings, founded by himself. He has appeared in many festivals worldwide and tours in Europe, the United States and Japan. His album August was described as being among the best in 2007 according to The Wire
