Technological evolution has always been a key factor for the transformation of musical aesthetics.
Music and sounds of the advertising industry are no exception. In past decades we saw the birth of real sound worlds which, on the one hand, met particular communication needs and, at the same time, reshaped our soundscape.
The first part of the workshop will be dedicated to retrace historical examples of the electronic music using and sound-design in the advertising, from Raymond Scott to Aphex Twin.
During the second part some works of the lecturer will be analyzed in detailed, examining in depth technical aspects, communication needs and video synchronization.

Paolo F. Bragaglia
Composer, Sound Designer

Paolo Bragaglia lives and works between Milan and the Marche. He's been dealing with electronic music since the 80s and he has always been deeply drawn to the possibility of creating new sounds, thanks to technological evolution. Over the years he has expanded his interests towards possible relations of music with motion pictures, architectural spaces, visual arts, words, scenes, dance. And so he has begun an intense composer and sound designer activity for soundtracks, sonorizations and multimedia shows, alongside his recording activity.
He has released seven full length albums, he participates in many collections and he has performed in different projects in various festivals in Italy and abroad. Also active as a composer and sound designer in the advertising industry, over the years he has been working for clients such as Esso, Suzuki, Cariplo, Greenpeace, Civita, Procter & Gamble, Mazda, Bonduelle, Telecom, Torino 2006, Galbani, Proraso, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Sony, Renault, Fiat, Fornarina, Scavolini, Geox, Yamaha, Merrel, Menarini, Università Bocconi.
