Morkebla (Norwegian for “dark blue”) is the project of Alberto Rosso (Italy). Moving from a composite musical background (that includes black metal, noise, industrial, ambient, psychedelia and Kosmische Musik), Alberto keeps exploring by diving in tape loops, field recordings and sound design techniques to create a wide variety of sounds, noise and glitchy soundscapes. Morkebla is a journey, a sonic discovery made of subtle atmospheres to be approached through multifaceted states-of-consciousness. Out of body experiences, shifting through virtual, ethereal, yet tangible and familiar non-places. The common logic of the dancefloor is hinted to and dismantled at the same time, leaving the scene to syncopated rhythms and dreamy, saturated melodies. During his live shows, music and visuals often blend into each other.
