DANCITY FESTIVAL 2014 “GATEWAY” presenta

Dancity Festival “Gateway” sarà il portale che metterà in dialogo i multiformi aspetti sensoriali delle arti. Dalla tradizione storica all'innovazione sonora, dalla location barocca all’arte contemporanea, l’arte sarà presente in tutte le sue forme. La nona edizione del festival di cultura e musica elettronica organizzato dall’Associazione Culturale Dancity, iniziata con lo speciale evento del 30 maggio, che ha visto l’esibizione di Flying Lotus, Thundercat e Captain Murphy nella suggestiva Piazza del Duomo di Spoleto, proseguirà il 26, 27 e 28 giugno 2014 a Foligno presso lo splendido complesso dell’Auditorium S. Domenico, Palazzo Candiotti e il club Serendipity.

In sinergia con la Red Bull Music Academy, con cui prosegue anche per l’edizione 2014 la proficua collaborazione, e con il contributo del Comune di Spoleto, Comune di Foligno, Regione Umbria ed altri partner istituzionali come l’Ambasciata Francese, nonché di sostenitori privati, Dancity continua a stupire il proprio pubblico con proposte che lo rendono uno dei festival del settore fra i più apprezzati nel panorama internazionale.
Dancity Festival “Gateway” aprirà le porte anche all’arte contemporanea attraverso un’open call - dalla quale nascerà un’esposizione di opere presentate da artisti, fotografi, illustratori, video-maker e designer - e mediante la Contemporary Art Session realizzata in collaborazione con AtTack Festival, che avrà luogo dal 7 al 29 giugno.
Tra le novità di quest’anno anche Dancity School, una piccola scuola d'introduzione al mondo dell’elettronica e delle arti digitali attraverso il gioco, che si realizzerà con laboratori interattivi dedicati ai più piccoli. Il portale “Gateway” abbraccerà anche il teatro con l’esibizione de “La Società dello Spettacolo”, a cura dell’omonima compagnia ed ispirato al famoso testo di Guy Debord.
Concerti, live & DJ set, danza, installazioni, mostre d’arte contemporanea, teatro, residenze, performance, laboratori e realizzazioni di pittura urbana. Un festival che arricchirà il territorio di esibizioni uniche e partecipazioni di artisti internazionali, con numerosi giornalisti di settore ed un vasto pubblico proveniente da tutta Italia e dall’estero.

Dancity Festival “Gateway” is the portal  that will create a dialogue between the many-sided sensory aspects of art. From historical tradition to sound innovation, from the baroque location to contemporary art, art exists in all its forms. The ninth edition of the electronic music and culture festival, organized by the Dancity Cultural Association, which began with the special event on May 30th and the performance by Flying Lotus, Thundercat and Captain Murphy in the beautiful Piazza del Duomo in Spoleto – will continue on June 26, 27 and 28, 2014 in Foligno at Auditorium S. Domenico, Palazzo Candiotti and Serendipity club.

Thanks to the continued synergy and collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy also for this 2014 edition, and with the contributions of the City of Spoleto, City of Foligno, Umbria Region and other institutions such as the French Embassy, as well as private supporters, Dancity continues to wow its audiences with proposals making it an electronic music and culture festival among the most celebrated in the international landscape.

Dancity Festival “Gateway” will also open its doors to contemporary art through an open call which created an exhibit of artworks by artists, photographers, illustrators, video-makers and designers – and also through Contemporary Art Session created in collaboration with AtTack Festival, from June 7th to the 29th.
Among the novelties this year is also Dancity School, a playful introduction to the world of electronic music and digital art through interactive workshops for children. The “Gateway” portal will also embrace theatre with a performance of “The Society of the Spectacle”, by the theatre company of the same name, inspired by the famous script by Guy Debord. 
Concerts, live performances and DJ sets, dance, installations, contemporary art exhibitions, theatre, residences, and workshops. A festival that will enrich its local area with unique exhibitions and the participation of international artists, with specialized press representatives and a vast audience from all of Italy and abroad.
